About Dr. Taelor, OTD

Dr. Taelor M, OTD, OTR/L, CTP is the heart-led leader of Survivors Overcoming Silence (also known as SOS). She is a passionate advocate and educator for trauma survivors and professionals alike through the lenses of education and authentic connection. Dr. Taelor holds many roles such as occupational therapist, coach, consultant, podcast host, friend, mentor, late-diagnosed neurodivergent (ADHD), and self-identified goofball. She is the oldest of three children, and has known since a young age that she was meant to help others that drove her lifelong ambition. In her early years, she developed a passion for acting and musical theatre, which later developed into a love of public speaking and the arts. When she is not engaged in her soul-work, you can find her doing Pilates, playing with her dog, Luke, or singing and dancing around the house!

Taelor completed a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree in 2019 from a private health professions graduate program in Boston, MA. There, she focused her studies on childhood & developmental trauma, holistic approaches such as mindfulness, and program development for professionals for trauma-sensitive care. She also holds the title of Certified Trauma Professional through Evergreen Certifications, has done years of self-studying, and spent over a decade of healing outside of her professional pursuits in and out of therapy. She has presented four times nationally on childhood trauma, been a guest on multiple platforms and podcasts about mental health or other advocacy efforts, and hosts Overcoming: The Podcast, which focuses on tools & resources for Overcoming adversity. Taelor is currently stepping into more public speaking opportunities, advocacy, and psychosocial education on a larger scale.

Dr. Taelor is the founder of TM Education & SOS Coaching LLC and provides trauma-sensitive education and consultation services for professionals and survivors. She recently held the title of Curriculum Coordinator for a local inpatient addiction rehab facility, where she designed a 120-group program to support the social-emotional and other daily life needs for residents in recovery. Taelor hosts online courses & various other projects (seasonally available-see updated services), and is currently running season three of Overcoming: The Podcast. Taelor also runs the Survivors Overcoming Silence community (also known as SOS with Dr Taelor) via social media, and loves bringing together a group of survivors and professionals, while breaking stigmas of trauma and healing along the way. Her work is accessible, empowering, yet also raw & relatable. She shows up as her whole, authentic self in and out of her platforms, to lead by example of the power of reclaiming what was dimmed or lost in trauma. Reiterating, that the power & personal fulfillment in someone’s life, begins with them and the unique light they bring to the world.

Taelor (5 y.o.) with her great grandma, who was always one of her biggest supporters

Taelor’s passion for advocacy emerged due to her own personal experiences – being the oldest child in a family with toxic stress, while later striving to do deep work in healing to be the cycle breaker of generational trauma. She was also recently diagnosed with ADHD, prior to her 30th birthday, which has led to a deeper advocacy passion within the neurodivergent community! Taelor’s unique lens of personal and professional experiences with trauma, lead to an approach of connection, non-judgement, and trauma-sensitive support in all she does. Taelor truly understands what fellow survivors may struggle with, having faced so many of those herself, like having gone no contact with her family & being late-diagnosed neurodivergent.

She aims to break down barriers of understanding complex topics, and provide non-judgmental and holistic information to those in need.
